These patterns on these incredible papers are done entirely by hand,using the batik method. Wax is used as a resist on the paper, and thencolor is applied by hand wherever there is no wax. The wax is appliedusing carved wooden blocks for each pattern. Some patterns are coloredin by two artisans who work on one sheet at the same time! Theseexquisite papers are beautiful in a window or used as lampshades, butthey are also ideal for book covers, collage, luminaries, and all paperarts.
